Fundations: Fundations is a phonics program that follows the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction. It is a research-based, highly effective approach that provides children will solid word attack skills and helps to develop both reading and writing skills in tandem. Fundations is a multisensory, structured, systematic, cumulative, and explicit program with a clear and thoroughly documented research basis. The program focuses on student development by differentiating instruction, and actively engaging students in their learning. Linked on the button titled "FUNDATIONS UNIT #" you will find IMPORTANT home links that will allow you to coach your students through our Fundations units. Every week I will send home a home connection packet. This is very important and should be used to create a strong classroom to home connection.
